Ditsy Block Bombolone by Little Greene Paint & Paper is based on a wallpaper found in an attic at Felbrigg Hall, a 17th-century English country house in Norfolk, now part of a National Trust property. The dark but cheerful golden tones remind me of a 19th-century cabin under the pines in, say, Schroon Lake or maybe Brant, very countrified but in that vaguely dignified way that bespeaks old money, the kind of wallpaper picked out a century ago by the elegant grandmother of someone named Binky, Bunty, or Figgy. Note that the pistil is a very subtle peachy pink and probably wouldn’t be terribly noticeable except at close range. You could let it lie or pick it out with an appliance in the same register - but just one. Little Greene offers coordinated paint for trim and possibly even cupboards if you were really going bespoke, but in this case I would abstain . This color array is such a perfect little package of pleasing, coordinating tones that I think too much consistency would stray into the dreaded realm of hobgoblins.
